Silence. Not even a 'Thanks.' He was still mad at me. I remained silent and continued to work on the shelter, but after a while, I started to hate the silence. Even though I was confused about my feelings, I still wanted us to be friends - I guess we were considered friends now, anyway -, I didn't like not talking to him and I hated him Peeta, who was usually so happy, being hostile towards me. Almost wanted things to go back to the way they were in the arena, at least we were happy together then, rather than ignoring each other. "Are you going to talk to me?" I asked, wanting to add that he was being childish, but I knew that that would cause more arguements.

I shrug an look at her. "I don't know. Maybe if you stop giving me the stupid talk about 'ashes 12 and blah blah blah.' Maybe I will then." I say and finish one wall then move to the next side. The walls weren't that big since we just needed something to sleep in.

I was reffering to the fact that Peeta had completely brushed me off when I had apologised for not loving him like he loved me. He just said 'Yeah, yeah, yeah.' and walked off, which wasn't fair on me. "Look, I'll admit that I care about you, ok? I just don't know in what way I care about you. And it's not like I can give you a family or anything." If we ever had children, their name would go in the reaping regardless of us being victors, so we would possibly have to watch our children die on tv, and I really didn't want that. "Can we at least just try to be friends for now?"

I wonder if there is any real mermaids in her world? Would they look like me at all? Or would they be green and have big eyes? All these questions! Billy really should of told me about this.

"I think it's pretty awesome." I replied with a smile. "I'll admit that I'm not a big fan of mermaids, but I like myth's so meeting a myth is pretty cool." I hoped she didn't mind that I didn't like mermaids much.

"Most mermaids are bad people anyway. I know loads of them who like to rip apart humans and tear off there heads for fun. I never hanged out with the likes of them. My brothers liked them but they're evil too." Even though mermaids were bad enough in my world for there killings of humans, sirens were even worse than that. They tease there prey. They like to play little games with them before they reveal their claws. How me and Billy met was because I saved him from a siren attack. lucky he only got away with slashes on his legs. he was only seven and me six, but I scared I saved him.

I nodded my head in agreement. "Yeah, little girls who don't know the myths well love mermaids, but when they grow up and learn the myths, their opinions change... Well, for some people their opinions change, anyway." For a moment I didn't know what else to say but then I decided on a subject. "So, how many brothers do you have?"

"37, but it's probably down to 32 now. They are always trying to kill one another. I'm the only sister, unfortunately." I wonder were they are now? Probably trying to get it on with the mermaids on the rocks knowing them. I only have two okay brothers - Fin and Turk. I do hope they're okay. They do wind me up sometimes but they seem to care... Now to mention it, I haven't seen them in at least three years now. "How about you?"

"37 or 32?! Yikes! I'm an only child, so I don't have brothers or sisters. The closest I have to brothers and sisters are my friends." I shrugged a little and then leaned back on my elbows. "I'd hate to have 37 siblings, especially brothers, that'd be a nightmare!"

"Oh, it is. When I was younger they would call me names and play pranks on me all the time. I broke their fingers in return though. They stopped annoying me so much after that point." I smiled. "But I'm the same a you, my friends are like my family. My mother never cared for me and my father works with the army. Mostly I had to fend for my self when I was young. The only person who cared for me was my grandmother, and she was the one who gave me this." I take my necklace out of my shirt and show her my pendent - a small round metal plate, engrained on it the mark of the sea. "That how I can walk on land." I figured these people I could trust with my secret. I don't think they would try and steal it off me.

I looked at the pendant and grinned. "Awesome! Is it like enchanted with a spell or something?" I asked curiously. I really liked spells and stuff, so uf it was enchanted with a spell, it'd be awesome!

"I think so. I'm not too sure. There sort of like pearls in a sense. There created by nature, not people. No one is too sure but some believe it was the gods gift to us." I didn't want to say any more. Though I trusted her, I don't think she would necessary want to know more. I barely know anything about them myself, just that I have to keep it safe and to die before anyone can take there hands on it. I noticed that the sun was on it's way downwards now and my stomach was rumbling. I looked to the remains of the fire the night before and go and salvage come of the coral I had collected the day before. "Do you want some? It's really good." I say, as I take a bit of my own piece.

"Uhhh... Sure, I'll try it." I took a piece of coral, looked at it, then took a small bite. "It's actually not that bad!" I commented with a grin, taking a bigger bite. I guess that, since I could eat sushi, that I should've known I'd be fine with coral now, but I guess I was just suspicious. Meh, oh well, I was just glad that I gave it a chance!
